The fine print
Safety and risks
ARCO is built so that nobody, the team included, stands between you and your funds. Here is exactly what that means, and what it does not protect you from.
What the code is
The pools run the same concentrated liquidity code that the largest exchanges in crypto have run for years, unmodified. ARCO adds three contracts of its own: the fee collector that splits pool fees, the lock vault, and the router that sends trades to the best venue. Every address is on the Contracts page with a link to the explorer.
What the team can and cannot do
Can
- List the tokens the vault pays out.
- Move the lockers' slice between 10% and 14.3%.
- Add or remove other exchanges from the router, and set the routing fee up to a hard cap of 0.3%.
- Sell fees that arrive in unlisted tokens for USDC and push it into the vault.
- Point future fees at a new vault or a new collector. That is the upgrade path.
Cannot
- Take anything out of the vault. What was paid in belongs to the lockers.
- Touch your positions, your locks or your rewards.
- Pause swaps, freeze a pool or block an address.
- Change a pool's fee or mint more TARCO. The supply is fixed.
Risks, in plain words
- Smart contract riskCode can have bugs, including code that has worked for years. Do not put in what you cannot afford to lose.
- Impermanent lossLiquidity positions end up holding more of the token that fell. Fees may or may not make up for it.
- No early exit from locksLocked TARCO stays locked until the date you chose. Nobody can change that.
- Team key riskFees that have not reached the vault yet depend on the team wallet behaving and staying safe. Your own positions and locks do not.
- Token riskAnyone can create a pool for any token. A pool existing on ARCO says nothing about the token in it. Check the address, not the name.
Staying safe
- Check that you are on the real site before you connect. Bookmark it.
- ARCO never sends direct messages, never asks for a seed phrase and never asks you to send funds to an address.
- Read what your wallet shows before you confirm. Every action on ARCO is one transaction you approve yourself.
- For a token you do not know, compare its address with the project's own channels before you trade it.
